Rapid re-housing Program
ABOUT
Rapid Rehousing helps single parents and two-parent families who have experienced a setback—such as job loss, medical challenges, or unexpected life events—secure safe housing and regain stability. Families receive individualized support for up to 24 months from Catholic Charities Case Managers, who assist with housing placement, benefits applications, counseling, childcare, education, and employment opportunities.
The program focuses on helping families rebuild stability, increase their earning potential, and work toward long-term self-sufficiency. Participants contribute 30% of their adjusted income toward rent and are encouraged to take advantage of all available supportive services, attend life-skills workshops, prepare budgets, and pursue employment or education. The program is available to families in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties.
Catholic Charities does not handle their own housing referrals for Permanent Supportive Housing. Referrals are handled by:

WHO QUALIFIES FOR THE Rapid rehousing program?
Homeless families who are living on the street or in a shelter are eligible for this program and must be referred through the Coalition to End Homelessness.

What about Application fees and deposit?
Our program covers application fees and deposit.
What is expected of participating families?
This program is intended to help heads of household find consistent employment and asks that families pay 30% of household income toward their rent. Families must work hard to find employment and graduate the program so that other families may be assisted.
